BrandSource Lends a Helping Hand
For nearly a decade, BrandSource Canada and its Maritime retailers have been incredible partners of Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic helping us to keep families close when it matters most.
Over the years they have donated many of the appliances and furnishings that make our House a home including washers, dryers, fridges, televisions, bed frames, a freezer and a stove.
They also provided the gift of a good night’s sleep by donating all the beds at our Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room at the IWK. It is so important for families to have a place they can rest after long days at the hospital.
This past year, BrandSource Canada stepped up in an even greater way launching an initiative with its dealers across the country. The national campaign Thanks for the Helping Hand! Project saw BrandSource stores support Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic locally by making an annual donation and holding fundraising events throughout the year.
“Ronald McDonald House is a very worthy cause that affects many families. When the idea was presented to us, we wanted to get on board,” says Allison McLellan, Sales Manager at McLellan BrandSource Home Furnishings in Woodstock, NB. “We made an annual donation and also held a barbeque this past summer to raise funds to support families.”
The total raised by 42 BrandSource retailers across Canada in 2016 was $69,206.50. Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlantic received 24% of those funds for a total of $16,810. The Maritimes also had the highest level of participation in the country with nine retailers getting involved.
BrandSource already has plans underway to continue their support for local families in 2017.
